Extended Description:
The Infinity NE is an extraordinary power system developed specifically to address the need to provide dual voltage power in a dynamic, changing environment. Line Power

The Line Power Systems is designed to remotely power -48Vdc network equipment reliably using +/- 190Vdc over existing copper lines deployed between central offices and remote outside plant (OSP) cabinets. New voice, video and data subscriber services can be delivered over fiber optic lines, while the legacy copper lines already deployed in the ground are used to leverage the central office battery backup and generator power sources in the event of an electrical utility grid outage. Applications include triple-play infrastructure, wireless network distributed antenna systems, and FTTN/FTTH fiber infrastructure.
The Line Power Systems modular architecture provides both upstream and downstream converters. Upstream converter shelves are available for both central office applications and OSP cabinets. Upstream power converters take -48Vdc input and convert to +/- 190Vdc output power for distribution over twisted pair copper lines with appropriate input current limits and hold-over. Downstream converter shelves are available for 650 Watt and 1300 Watt applications. Downstream power converters take +/- 190Vdc input over twisted pair copper and convert to -48Vdc to power remote network equipment. This provides power distribution with battery back-up maintained at a central location to avoid costs of deploying and maintaining remote battery strings at OSP cabinet or customer premise locations.

Power Express

The Power Express Class 2 Distribution is a 1RU shelf that provides 32 100VA limited circuits for safe powering of remote loads. NEC Class 2 rating allows for power cabling to be deployed in data cable raceway instead of conduit thus reducing labor time and increasing speed to market. The Power Express Class 2 Distribution incorporates 4 replaceable modules that generate 8 100VA circuits each. Each circuit is internally fused within the module eliminating the possibility of users plugging an incorrect rated fuse. This guarantees that each circuit maintains compliance to the tested Class 2 safety rating under UL. Each shelf is designed to support an alarm card for stand-alone deployment and can be uplinked over the RS-485 data bus through the RJ-45 connections on the rear of the shelf. This uplink allows each shelf to interface a GE Pulsar Plus controller (commonly used in our Infinity Power Systems) allowing local access, alarming and control of each circuit in every shelf as well as remote interface over the controller LAN connection.
- Fast and Easy circuit terminations speed deployment
- Individual circuit on/off/reset
- Replace modules without re-wiring the shelf
- Simple push button operation
- Guaranteed Class 2 delivery with internal fusing (higher rated fuses cannot be installed thereby violating the class 2 performance)
- Uplink to master controller for remote access over LAN

596 Rectifier Retrofit

GE has offered the 596 family of rectifiers from the early 1990s. 596 rectifiers can be found in the GPS4812, 2424, PXS Shelves, and OCS Cabinet applications. These power systems have a long history of service and through the evolution of technology have experienced a series of rectifier upgrades. To date, all changes have included the continued use of the original rectifier case. This new 596 replacement allows these legacy power systems to be upgraded with modern rectifiers, while leaving the distribution, shelves and frame in place.
To accommodate the Infinity, a host-carrier is installed in each rectifier slot for a seamless transition to the Total Efficiency™ (TE) rectifier technology. Functionally, the Infinity rectifiers are designed to work with all existing controllers where the 596 rectifier was used. This would include the Vector, Pulsar, Pulsar Plus, Millennium 1 & 2 as well as the Galaxy SC controllers.
Replacing all the rectifiers will gain the greatest system efficiency, however the existing 596 units can continue to work side by side with the new Infinity rectifiers. No change is needed to the output distribution, batteries, or LVD contactor of these plants with this upgrade.
The Infinity rectifiers provide a cost-effective means of modernization and growth to this installed base of 596 rectifiers. For most applications the upgrade process is no more than the removal of the 596, replacement with a carrier and the insertion of the new Infinity rectifier.
- Replace discontinued 596 product with Plug-and-Play module
- Saved distribution and cabling infrastructure
- NEBS and CEus Certified Infinity Rectifiers
- Efficiency approaching 97%

In addition to solid stringer, gray-painted, two-inch c-channel is available to accommodate select expansion projects. GE offers the most durable components for your power cable rack installations. Whether used in a central office, remote office or wireless hut, GE has the cable rack accessories and cable management products required to do the job. Cable racks in a building must conform to all sorts of site-specific requirements. They must run horizontally in one place or vertically in another. They must go over, under or around obstructions, and they must mount from the ceiling in one place or from below in another depending on what’s available. All the while, the cable rack must protect and fully support the cabling.
Our power cable racks include options that are similar to ED4C685-72 and will satisfy the needs for all new power plant installations. They also have excellent interface connections, making them compatible to most existing infrastructures needing upgrade or expansion.
